3. Dance To Terrible Music
The old tried and true method of dancing away your feelings is very true for today. Go and put on that stupid song you call your ‘guilty pleasure’ and dance around like no one is watching. Feel like you are having fun and being yourself. It’s cathartic.
Dancing gives us a freedom and happiness that we wouldn’t necessarily feel outside of movement. Why do you think so many sad movies have a scene where people are jumping around and dancing for no reason at all? They just want to laugh and feel alive.
Dancing away your problems only lasts for a little while but maybe it’ll make us happy enough to brush ourselves off and get out there and start making change happen. If Obama taught us anything, it was that we have the power to change whatever we want.
Maybe he didn’t envision it starting with us jumping up and dancing to Firework by Katy Perry but it works if it makes us all feel better. Put on that horrible Justin Bieber song and dance like everything depends on it. Make yourself feel like smiling, give yourself the joy that dancing to dumb music can give you. Because you need to smile in order to move on and do what is right.
