She’ll work to close the gender wage gap.
Yes, there is a gender wage gap in this country. People will deny that to the ends of the Earth. But it exists, it’s real, and women are, indeed, making less money than men. A women earns only 79 cents for every dollar that a man earns. Much of this argument is then followed by the “life choices” that women make- having children, cutting hours at work, staying home. It’s said that women opt out of working once they settle down and start a family. But we’re calling bullshit on that one. Women are forced to leave the workplace due to unreasonable childcare costs and ultimately, no flexibility in their work schedule to manage a family as well.
This wage gap is something Hillary Clinton has spotlighted throughout her campaign. No, not because she wants to gain the respect and votes of women, but because she is a women, and for the first time in history, we have a presidential candidate who understands women like no other.
So if you want to see the earnings between men and women equal one another one day, Hillary Clinton is the choice for that.
