Finnick Odair (The Hunger Games)

The Hunger Games is kind of about romance but more so about girl power and standing up against oppression and all that good stuff but when it comes to Finnick Odair, he has the most tragic love story to ever exist. The Capitol makes this sweet darling into their sex slave and all he wants is to love Annie and marry her.

So when he finally gets what he wanted, everyone is so happy. He’s so in love with Annie and he’ll do anything for her (including begging Mags to volunteer for Annie so she doesn’t have to go back to the games) and he is loyal and amazing with her.

So then of course he dies and leaves her pregnant because nothing good can ever happen for Finnick. He doesn’t even get to meet his child before he’s brutally torn apart trying to take down President Snow. Honestly, Finnick Odair is one of the greatest romancers to ever be a part of literature and he is reduced to just the hot Victor from District 4 by most who read the series.

Finnick loves Annie so much and does whatever he can to make sure she’s safe and that’s something that everyone can understand and hope to have in their lives someday. Also he shouldn’t have died. That was unnecessary.
