5 Things You Need To Know About ‘Rectify’

5. It’s Going To Make You Cry… A LOT
Because it’s essentially about being human, Rectify is incredibly sad. It meditates on the ugly just as much as the beautiful in humanity, and so it’s going to move you .(If it doesn’t, you should check that place in your chest where your heart used to be.)
The characters go through some of the worst things imaginable, and the audiences’ empathy is tested. Sometimes you want to reach right through your screen and hold them. Every character becomes a real person to you, and their troubles will break your heart. (But in a good way, remember?) The struggle may be treacherous at times, but when McKinnon rewards you, he does it in a big way.
But all the heavy emotion never grows wearying. It won’t leave you feeling bruised or angry (looking at you Walking Dead), but it will make you feel.
