21. Cattle vs. Butcher

Okay. I really thought Terminus was going to be a good place- a safe haven. When they first saw the signs leading them there, I was excited for them to catch a break. But then I remembered this is The Walking Dead, and places like that don’t exist. Never in my wildest nightmares did I expect what was going on behind closed door though.

Their infamous motto being, “you’re the butcher or you’re the cattle.” Cannibalism. What?

What made this so shocking for me is that this “sanctuary” had been talked about long before they even got there. Daryl, Michonne, Bob and Tyreese all heard a broadcast about it while they were living in the prison. After the prison attack, they decided they had nowhere else to go. They followed the maps to railroad tracks, leading to Terminus. “Sanctuary for all. Community for all.” It sounded legit! Boy, was I wrong.

The people of Terminus treated Rick’s group as cattle. First, shuffling them into a pen and then, lining them up to get their necks slit. In true The Walking Dead fashion, just as a main character is about to die, someone comes in to save the day, and it’s not who anyone is expecting.
