Murder House: Tate Tells Violet The Truth

The strangest love story to ever take the world by storm was that of Tate Langdon and Violet Harmon. Tate, the literal boy next door, fell in love with Violet and she for him. The only problem? Tate was a dead boy who had shot up the school in the most iconic American Horror Story make-up job to date.

Yet still, people love Tate. In the scene that shows that Violet herself has been dead for the majority of the first season, Tate tries to calmly explain to her what is happening. When she runs, she is forced into a continual loop of returning to the house only to find her own body covered in bugs.

It’s really truly messed up. But then she exists in the house with her mother (who eventually dies in childbirth) and the end of the first season is a very weird ‘family’ moment because they all decided to stay in this insane house together for eternity.

But Violet is played by the brilliant Taissa Farmiga and her reaction to discovering that she’s a ghost is heartbreaking and terrifying and everything we loved about that first season of the show. It’s no wonder Ryan Murphy only gives her the best roles he can.
