8: Track 6, “The Hurt Is Gone”, 6:25

My biggest beef with “The Hurt Is Gone” is not with the music or the lyrics or the style- all of that I love. No, what annoys me most about this song is that it’s 6:25 minutes of song that is apparently about the hurt being gone.

Dude, I hate to break it to you, but with a song that goes on WAYYYY too long, obviously the hurt isn’t gone. Is this irony, perhaps? I have a hard time deciphering.

"And you’ve got time You’ve still got time Change comes for you Even if you’re hiding out So wake to this truth And maybe you’ll believe me now No safety in illusions Of a place where you belonged So take hold of me And hang on ’til the hurt is gone The hurt is gone Yeah it’s gone"

Other than my nit-picking about the song title and the length, I do love me some minor chords and some symphony in the background. I do find the ending, which sort of drones on and on and on, kind of confusing. The video, posted above, is a shortened version of the song, so to hear what I’m talking about, check out the full version on your favorite streaming service or YouTube.
