Tim Buckley, Lady, Give Me Your Key: The Unissued 1976 Solo Acoustic Sessions, October 21st

Tim Buckley is the relatively unknown American folk singer-songwriter and father of 90’s iconic singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley, who famously covered “Hallulujah”.

The Unissued 1976 Solo Acoustic Sessions are a collection of previously unknown tracks that were recorded while Tim was recording his second album, Goodbye and Hello. The title track, “Lady, Give Me Your Key” is above.

"I am waiting for the sun to rise And the night is waiting for me I am waiting for a love to come Lady, give me your key I am waiting for a dream of you And a nightmare is waiting for me I am waiting for a love to come Lady, give me your key Lady, high as the sky Lady, dark as the sky Lady, give me your key I am waiting to unlock your door Are you there waiting for me? I am waiting for a love to come Lady, give me your key -“Lady, Give Me Your Key”"

Tim Buckley died at the age of 28 from an apparent heroine overdose. His son Jeff was eight years old at the time of his death and had only met his father once. He was not invited to the funeral. Jeff Buckley would also die young, and tragically, when at the age of 30 he drowned accidentally.
