Bastille’s New Album Wild World Reviewed & Ranked
Track 4: “Warmth”, 3:49
If “Warmth” were titled differently, it would be called “Wild World” and therefore makes this the unofficial official title track. It’s a song about seeing craziness in society on the news, and not being able to believe your eyes. It’s about wanting to be near those you love dearest after tragedy strikes.
Hmm, I wonder what could have inspired this one? This world of ours is full of tragedy and terror. Even small atrocities can give us the feeling that we need to be with our loved ones and squeeze tight.
"“Hold me in this wild, wild, world Cause in your warmth I forget how cold it can be And in your heat I feel how cold it can get Hold me in this wild, wild, world Cause in your warmth I forget how cold it can be And in your heat I feel how cold it can get Now draw me close”"
The world is a crazy place and will destroy us if we don’t have love and friendship. We all need people in our lives who can shelter us from this wild, wild world.
This may be one of the best songs lyrically. I gave you one little speck of lyrics above, but the entire song is full of meaningful lines and ideas that come together beautifully.
