#23: “War of the Coprophages”

This episode is a little different than business as usual for several reasons, the main being that Mulder and Scully are separated for the majority of the case. Which, of course, doesn’t stop Mulder from relying on her expertise at every turn.

He’s on the lookout for killer cockroaches. She’s at home, washing her dog, cleaning her gun, reading Breakfast at Tiffany’s, EATING ICE CREAM DIRECTLY FROM THE CARTON….all the while on the phone with Mulder, walking him through all the science-y stuff he can’t handle.

And Scully seems relatively okay with this. She’d never say it, but I’ll go ahead and put it out there: he’s nothing without her!!!! That is, until he finds another “her” to guide him- an insect expert named Bambi.

Mulder, being the spooky goof that he is, calls Scully to catch her up in the middle of the night. And Scully, being the loyal little queen that she is, wakes up immediately and answers the phone- BECAUSE SHE’D BEEN SLEEPING WITH IT IN HER HAND. *crying emoji*

Mulder has no chill; he talks too much about Bambi. Scully also has no chill: she is jealous that another woman is there to lecture him, assist him, and (presumably) boss him around. She is having none of that. Guess who hops on the next plane to Cockroach City and saves the day? I’ll give you a hint: she’s a she, and she’s NOT Bambi.
