 7. Beyoncé

We don’t call her “Queen Bey” for nothing. In every avenue she pursues, Beyoncé has yet to disappoint her legions of fans. She’s earned her crown, and she’s never stopped giving back in her work and the inspiration it lends. She radiates a confidence, fierceness, and vitality that we should all try to emulate, and she’s not one to downplay what she’s got.

“I am a woman and when I think, I must speak,” Beyoncé once said. In one fell swoop, she validated a woman’s right to have her voice heard, in a world where such freedom still necessitates validation. Beyoncé is a woman who speaks for women. It’s a significant milestone for feminism when someone as high-profile as Beyoncé identifies as a feminist herself, and encourages the movement in her professional life.

We cannot allow 2016 to take this artist from us in her prime, when every album she bestows on us is better than the last. She is irreplaceable.
