4. The Walking Dead (AMC)

Premiere Date: October 23rd

You know it is almost Halloween when new episodes of The Walking Dead premiere. The show’s Season 7 was greenlit only three episodes into its sixth season. We last saw Rick’s crew of misfits trying to get Maggie over The Hilltop to get her medical assistance due to her problematic pregnancy. The Saviors are blocking every path for our heroes. The noble Eugene volunteers himself as bait to divert the Saviors. He is hopeful the rest of the group can carry Maggie to The Hilltop on foot.

Regrettably for Ricks team, they are rounded up and disarmed by the Saviors. Negan states he does not want to kill anyone in Ricks group but must for the loss of some of his men. We get a look at how crazy Nagan is when he starts taunting the group with a game of eeny, meany, miny, moe. Each member is looking down at the barb-wire wrapped bat Negan calls Lucille. The sounds of the group screaming in horror as one of their own is beaten to death is unforgettable. We still do not know who Negan’s actual victim. Look for this to be answered within the first few minutes of the Season 7 premiere.

Fans of the comic book will be pleased to hear the leader of the new settlement called The Kingdom as “King” Ezekiel. Not to freak anyone out but Ezekiel has a pet tiger. A freaking pet tiger and a thrown, y’all. This season has the potential to be outstanding. I would look for another quick renewal from the folks at AMC.
