Rahul Kohli: Cox’s Orange Pippin

Fans of the Tv show iZombie will recognize Rahul Kohli as Ravi, zombie Liv’s friend and medical examiner boss at the morgue, as well as the doctor who’s trying his best to find a cure for her disease. With his tall-drink-of-water good looks, charm, intelligence, and witty one-liners on the show, he’s a fan favorite, especially for those of us who are hoping Liv and Ravi get together. (Because they totally should.) As for Kohli himself, if his Twitter feed is any indication, he’s fun and geeky. In one recent gem of a tweet, he wrote: “It’s gym time and I’m a mutant apparently…but not Wolverine or Colossus but more like The Blob.”

Kohli hails from England, where the apple Cox’s Orange Pippin also originated from. Sure, it’s got kind of an embarrassing name (try to say “Pippin” without giggling), but this apple is no fruit rotting at the bottom of the barrel: it enjoyed popularity for many years, probably due to a unique flavor that’s described as almost nutty—a taste that pairs well with actor Rahul Kohli’s distinctive and appealing sharp-tongued wit. If you’re looking for an English apple to put some pep in your step this fall while you drool over Ravi in episodes of iZombie, look no further than the Cox’s Orange Pippin.
