We’re back at it again with 10 incredibly talented actresses who could conceivably and believably play a female James Bond.

From the beginning, James Bond (otherwise known as “007”) has been a man – a white, British man, more accurately. This of course has to do with his origin story; James Bond was a character of literature long before he ever made his way onto the silver screen to be played by Sean Connery in 1962’s Dr. No. In the mind of author Ian Fleming, Bond was a man of many talents and vices – including fast cars and a fondness for alcohol and cigarettes. Over the years, Bond has been portrayed by seven different actors – with each of them lending their own unique interpretation to this classic and well-known fictional secret agent.

However, with the rumblings that Daniel Craig may be close to wrapping up his tenure as Bond, fans have been championing their own suggestions for the actors who could replace him in the role. Names like Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba have been dropped as potential options. It might be a little crazy for us to suggest this – but given that it might be time for a new Bond, no one ever said it necessarily had to be a man in the role. Here are just a few of our suggestions.
