8. Claire’s Emerald Dress

Claire has mourned the death of her daughter and is ready to get her husband back. With the help of Sister Hildegarde, she is given an audience with the King of France. She intends to regain Jamie’s release by any means necessary. Sister Hildegarde is unsure if Claire understands she must give her body as payment. She puts her best and most regal dress with a decorative cape to beg for the liberation of her husband. The King has other plans for the La Dame Blanche. He wants Claire to tell him who is guilty of sorcery and exploration of the dark arts.

Terry Dresbach did not put Claire in a vibrant green dress by chance. Green is a common TV trope commonly associated with evil, poison, and jealousy. Claire does not want anyone to die at her hands. Master Raymond has no problem saving himself. Claire, she is wearing her pendant that can detect poison. The King frees Master Raymon but still wants to collect on the debt Claire owes for releasing Jamie. When Jamie finds out what Claire had to do to get him our of jail, he has an attack of the green-eyed monster.
