49. Tyrion’s Meereenese Outfit (Season 6)

Tyrion Lannister has had a rough go of it over the first five seasons, from winding up in the Sky Cells in Season 1, to losing part of his nose in Season 2, to that whole “framed for a murder he didn’t commit” thing in Season 4. His troubles have been mirrored in the clothing department. This was partly deliberate. Clapton always made him look a little awkward and uncomfortable in his Lannister gear, even when he was Hand of the King. He was supposed to be though, because he didn’t quite fit in. For this reason, he’s never made my yearly “Best Outfits” list.

That ended in Season 6. Tyrion Lannister came into his own in this past year, even though, as usual, there were periods where he was having a rough go of fitting in. Tyrion has found his way, and you can see it in how comfortable he finally looks. The Meereenese brocade vest fits like a glove. His pants look like they were made for him. But of course he was comfortable in this scene. He was finally in charge, ending the War with the Masters. (Well, ending it at least temporarily.) Winning is a good look for him.
