7. Wayne’s World, with Anna Faris and Ilana Glazer

In many ways, Glazer’s hit TV show Broad City (in which she co-stars with co-creator Abbi Jacobson) is very similar to the film Wayne’s World, which originally starred Mike Myers and Dana Carvey. Broad City‘s Ilana and Abbi definitely have shades of Wayne and Garth, the two classic Saturday Night Live characters who host a public-access TV show in Wayne’s basement. (If Ilana could, you know she’d have her own TV show.) However, given that Glazer and Jacobson are frequent collaborators already, switching things up a little for a potential reboot would give Glazer the opportunity to play off another actress – like Anna Faris.

The combo of Glazer and Faris would be almost too good to resist, and they’d definitely be able to pull off the lovable goofiness of Wayne and Garth – or the female versions of them, anyway. One thing that’s also terrific about these two is the way their friendship endures even in spite of difficulties – like the professional environment of a real television studio, or encouraging each other to act on potential crushes. Both Glazer and Faris have been trailblazers in their professional lives and understand the importance of being true to one’s self – and that’s essentially what the message of Wayne’s World is all about.
