Video game news this week is on the lighter side, with nothing tremendously earth-shattering or groundbreaking, but there's still plenty to cover!

New Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 gameplay

This one made our list of games we can't wait to play in 2025, so any new details and footage is absolutely on our radar. Earlier this week, we got our first look at some first combat gameplay. And it just looks so good.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is slated to release on April 24.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4

To absolutely no one's surprise (since it was in our round-ups over the last two weeks), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 remasters are officially a thing!

It's going to be the same levels you know and love with one new level called the Waterpark that's teased at the end of the reveal trailer and new pro skaters are getting added, too. The game releases on July 11!

Don't bank on more The Last of Us games

With the reveal of Intergalactic at the 2024 Game Awards, Naughty Dog's newest upcoming game, and with the success of HBO's The Last of Us show, fans of the developer have been wondering if there isn't more TLOU games in the cards. Perhaps a Part III?

Well, Neil Druckmann poured some cold water on that. In an interview with Variety discussing the upcoming season 2 of the HBO show, Druckmann sighed and said "don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it."

Honestly, it's not surprising news. Naughty Dog doesn't really keep their IPs going long after their expiration date, and with the success of both The Last of Us games, I'd be surprised if they said yes to more.

Potential release window for Marvel 1943?

In an interview with The Direct, Khary Payton, the voice of Black Panther in Marvel 1943, said that the game's still being worked on, but they fully anticipate 2025, thinking "like a Christmas situation."

Honestly there's not much else to the interview except to get us a little more excited for this game we haven't heard much on since the first trailer. The game has Captain America and Black Panther in Paris during World War II with its own original story. Players will also control two Howling Commandos members and there will be plenty of Marvel cameos along the way.

New release this week: Split Fiction

If you played Hazelight Studios' It Takes Two, then you've been waiting with bated breath for the release of Split Fiction, which looks like a more grown-up version of the 2021 GOTY winner.

And the review are everything you'd expect. High praise. 9s and 10s from reviewers. This is a studio that knows how to do co-op games and they do it well.

Here's Gameranx's "Before You Buy" if you need a deeper dive before you drop any money.

Those tariffs will impact video games

Not to end the week on some less-than-stellar news, but the Trump administrations tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China will definitely have an impact on video games, GPUs, consoles, and physical versions of games.

There's a good breakdown from an analyst on BlueSky here, but a lot of people are theorizing that this could bring a faster end to physical copies of games. The tariffs on China will affect consoles, smartphones, GPUs, laptops, and everything in that realm while the tariffs on Mexico will affect disc costs.

We honestly don't even want to think about what this might do to the price of the Nintendo Switch 2.

What video game news are you excited for this week? Will you be playing Split Fiction? Are you counting down the days to Clair Obscur? Let us know in the comments!
