There is plenty of video game news to cover this week with new releases, more rumors, and plenty of exciting stuff happening in the industry, so let's jump right in.
Game Informer is back!
Yes, this makes us so incredibly happy. Game Informer is back after shuttering out of the blue last year with staff none the wiser. Now in a post on their newly re-launched website and across social media platforms, they've confirmed they're back from the grave to bring us all the video game coverage we could want.
Yes, that includes 100% of the staff that was laid off last year. Yes, that includes the print magazine again. We hope this is a better and brighter future for GI.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming to PS5
In a fantastic video, Troy Baker and Nolan North reunite to announce that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle officially launches on PS5 on April 15. This is as close as we will get to Nathan Drake and Indiana Jones interacting and it's great (and reminds us of that HAWP episode about Uncharted and Indiana Jones).
Even more Hollow Knight: Silksong rumors
April 2nd is so close, and until then, we'll keep posting all of the Hollow Knight: Silksong rumors that crop up. This week, it's backend changes to the game's Steam store that has people really starting to believe it's coming out this year.
The changes (listed over on SteamDB) include some changed assets, the updated copyright year of 2025, and an opt-in on GeForce Now (Nvidia's video game streaming platform).
Surprise! A Nintendo Switch Direct!
No, not the one on April 2nd happening to air a week early. This was a surprise one that Nintendo announced on Wednesday that aired on Thursday. It feels a little like the last rush for the original Switch, and we're sure all of these will be backwards compatible.
You can watch the whole presentation below, but highlights include a longer look at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Witchbrook, Rift of the Necrodancer, Pokemon Legends Z-A, and Dragon Quest I+II HD-2D Remake.
Releases this week: Atomfall
Yes, the much awaited Atomfall has finally arrived. It's got a 75/100 on Metacritic, giving most reviewers Fallout and Dying Light vibes. It's nice to see some vibrant colors in a post-atomic landscape. Keep in mind as well that this is a AA game and not a AAA game. Of course, Gameranx is on top of it with their usual "Before You Buy" if you need a bit of a deeper dive before committing.
Releases this week: InZOI
Yes, the spiritual successor to The Sims, InZOI launches in early access on March 28 on PC. This life sim looks incredibly realistic, incredibly detailed, and like it's going to eat away hours of our life (in a good way). Of course, it is early access, so expect some bugs and hiccups and maybe a bit of an incomplete game.
Naughty Dog's Intergalactic may not come out on the PS5
Jason Schreier of Bloomberg came out to say that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet probably won't be releasing by the end of 2026. Which means it may or may not make it onto the PS5 and may be a PS6 release (or whatever's next). That would also mean that Naughty Dog didn't put out any brand new games on this generation of consoles, which is insane to think about.
Don't look for a Hogwarts Legacy expansion
Going back to Jason Schreier at Bloomberg, he reported earlier that Warner Brothers would be putting out a Hogwarts Legacy expansion as well as a "Definitive Edition" at some point in 2025. Well, he just rescinded this report and said WB has canceled it as part of their initiative to reorganize their video game division. But don't worry, a sequel is still very much in development.
