Video game news ramped up again this week with an Xbox Partner Preview hitting the internet airwaves on Thursday and making a big week for Remedy Entertainment (our faves). But before we jump into that, there's plenty of other video game news to cover!

Super Mario Party Jamboree releases

It wouldn't be a video game news week without a new game releasing! This week, it's Super Mario Party Jamboree, which is getting pretty decent reviews. I mean, there's not a lot of ways you can screw up a Mario Party game, so no one should be surprised. And you're probably through playing Echoes of Wisdom at this point, so this isn't a bad game to pick up.

New levels for Astro Bot

Oh man, are speed runners in for a treat with Astro Bot. There's free weekly DLCs coming to the game starting this week and going through November 14. Each new level will have two new bots to rescue.

The new levels also include live online leaderboards so you can see just how bad you are at getting through the levels compared to everyone else in the world!

Info on the Analogue 3D

Okay, I didn't know this was a thing. Analogue is putting out the Analogue 3D, which is a true N64 clone console and touts that it can play every single N64 game in 4k via HDMI and will be region-free. It will also have some fun upgrades, like save states, screenshot capabilities, and more.

They announced this week that it is slated to launch in Q1 of 2025 and will cost $249. If you're a retro gamer looking for an upgrade to the Nintendo 64 (something I never thought I'd type), this feels like it's worth it. Plus you can get three of them for the same price as a PS5 Pro!

Alan Wake 2 DLC Release Date & new Remedy multiplayer game reveal

Because we're Remedy fans, they get their own section in this week's round-up. We've been dying for any news on the Lake House DLC, the second and final DLC for Alan Wake 2, ever since the Night Springs DLC hit back in June. Everything has always said October and now that we're halfway through the month, we knew it would be soon.

Well, it's October 22nd! And it looks about as creepy as you can imagine. And... is that... Dylan Faden at the end...? Everybody get out your notebooks and start taking notes on how deeply this ties into Control.

But that wasn't all the Remedyverse news for this week! Later on in the showcase, they showed off the Control multiplayer game they've been teasing for a few years. It looks like a bunch of 3v3 fun set in and around The Oldest House. It's officially called FBC: Firebreak.

Their development team also came out with a first look on YouTube and Game Director Mike Kayatta gave an interview with Xbox Wire.

Xbox Partner Preview highlights

Okay, it wasn't just Remedy that showed up for the Xbox Partner Preview on Thursday. Nope, we got our first look at Subnautica 2 coming to early access in 2025, a look at Bloober Team's new game after the Silent Hill 2 remake, which is Cronos: The New Dawn, a new trailer for Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza, and a new gameplay trailer for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
