Video game news is at an all-time high this week (not really, but there is a lot of it!), and we only have so much time to catch up on it. Let's just jump right in.

Stellar Blade/NieR: Automata DLC

Yes, that Stellar Blade DLC crossover with NieR: Automata that was teased in a state of play a couple of months ago is an official thing! And it launches on November 20! This will also include the hotly-anticipated photo mode for Stellar Blade as well.

If you didn't play Stellar Blade, the story is nothing to write home about, the voice acting sub-par and sometimes laughable. But the combat. Oh, the combat is everything you want it to be and it's enough to make the game pretty enjoyable.

Shoresy the Game coming soon

Okay, this one's gonna be a little niche. Apparently there's a Shoresy the Game coming at some point to PC and all consoles. Don't google it, though, because it's not anywhere online and not showing on Steam yet.

Nope, I found this one out attending the Shoresy Fall Classic versus the Detroit Red Wings alumni. Shoresy is a spinoff from the Canadian cult show Letterkenny about Triple-A–level ice hockey league in Sudbury, Ontario. Not much was really shown in the little clip they had on the jumbotron; it looks like it'll be an old-school throwback to something like NHL '95 and may or may not be a Mature rating (just given the nature of the show). I assume there will be a fighting mechanic and probably taunting/chirping as well, knowing Shoresy's character... and teammates.

We'll definitely keep our eyes on this one and keep you posted when we hear more!

LEGO Horizon Adventures releases

How can you make Horizon Zero Dawn into a LEGO game? Well, they found a way and LEGO Horizon Adventures released this week on November 14! It's getting pretty decent reviews and sounds like it's a solid LEGO game to play and actually a pretty good truncated version of the original story.

Updates on gaming handhelds

Two different updates this week regarding handheld gaming. Valve came out with a white version of their OLED Steam Deck. Nothing different from the OLED version except for the color, but it's a solid handheld gaming system that puts all your PC games right at your fingertips. The white version of the handheld releases on November 18!

And Microsoft has come out to say that yes, Xbox is working on a handheld. But much like Mr. Incredible says, they'll get there when they get there. It wouldn't surprise us if handheld gaming is the wave of the future, but we'll have to sit back and see where the world takes us.

Official release date for Atomfall

This was a game that was in the PlayStation State of Play... at some point over the last year and has been dubbed the British version of Fallout, got a new trailer, and an official release date. Atomfall is coming on March 27, 2025.

South of Midnight first looks

Developer Compulsion Games released a documentary on their upcoming game South of Midnight, which caught our eye with it's Deep South, blues-y music and setting. It's a thirty-minute long video on Xbox's YouTube channel.

IGN also has a deep dive on it as well with some more insight on what the game entails, and it sounds like it's going to be beautiful and sound amazing with Southern folklore and excellent blues and jazz that goes along with the story.

South of Midnight releases sometime in 2025.

Don't worry, Zelda games will be both 3D and 2D

With the success of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, it shouldn't be any surprise that there's a question about whether the "old school" style of games are still something gamers want when Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom exist.

Still, it's nice to hear series producer Eiji Aonuma tell BBC News that there's still room for both kinds of games in the Zelda series' future.
