What's new this October 2024 for PlayStation Plus members
PlayStation Plus Essential tier members have access to three new games for the month of October, which Sony announced in last week's State of Play.
Below are the free games for October 2024:
- Dead Space
- WWE 2K24
- Doki Doki Literature Club Plus
First up is the Dead Space remake, which came out in 2023. Once again here to fill your creepy/spooky vibes for the creepy/spooky season. If you didn't play the original or know nothing about it, this is a sci-fi horror survival game set in space. You play as Isaac Clark, who is the last man standing on the ship overrun with aliens and whose partner is lost somewhere on board.
Honestly, it improves a lot on the original game and still makes you want to go back and play the original all over again, too.
Next up is WWE 2K24, the latest in the series. Honestly if you've played any of the WWE 2K games before this one, 2K24 doesn't differ much but sticks to the same familiar formula. However, there are some new features in this version that may take a bit to find.
One of the biggest, most fun additions is the ability to spend three of your finisher stocks to do a bigger and badder version of your finisher, called the Super Finisher. It's just as epic as it sounds. So if you haven't played the latest iteration of this series, now's the perfect time to download it.
Last up is Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. Don't let the name or the cutesy description fool you. This is the revamped version of the indie game, too.
Honestly, the less we say about Doki Doki, the better, as you want to go into it with as little information as possible. Let's leave it at this: It's a subversive narrative experience that honestly feels like a psychological horror game at times and has Fight Club vibes in that... you just don't talk about Doki Doki Literature Club if you've played it because you don't want to ruin it.
