We take vacations all year round, at least some of us do. Whether you're waiting for the plane, relaxing by the beach, or just in the mood for a good read, I've got a list of books perfect for your summer vacation. Here are three books that have crossed my "to-read" list, and one or two that I have read or am currently reading. I've shared two of my past reads, Get Out of Your Head and The Game of Life and How to Play It. Both were great reads, leaving me with valuable lessons that I apply in my daily life.

I once read somewhere that the most successful people read books that nurture their minds and help them grow. There's nothing wrong with enjoying fiction or non-fiction for leisure, but for those looking to grow and expand, I suggest incorporating this method. It has made me want to read more because of the things I am learning and how I am growing, both personally and spiritually. The books I have read have helped me with self-improvement in my personal life and career. I've always enjoyed reading, and I’m glad to be back into it as a habit. So, if you're looking to grow in your life and career, start reading books that will feed your mind and soul. Here’s a list of books I want to read and why.

Book 1: Feeding the Soul (Because It’s My Business) by Tabitha Brown

In Feeding the Soul (Because It’s My Business), Tabitha Brown shares her journey of self-discovery, joy, and healing. Known for her warm and uplifting social media presence, Brown combines her personal journey, life lessons, and vegan recipes in this heartfelt memoir. Through candid storytelling, she explores themes of faith, resilience, and the importance of self-care. Brown’s genuine and relatable voice encourages readers to embrace their true selves, pursue their passions, and find joy in everyday moments. This inspiring book is a nourishing guide to living a fulfilling and authentic life.

  • Why this book: The title alone, Feeding the Soul, resonates with me, as my soul could use some nourishment. If you’ve watched Tabitha Brown’s journey, you know how positive and uplifting she is. I wouldn't mind getting a dose of that positivity in a good read, and I’m excited to send my sister some new vegan recipes to try. I haven’t read this book yet, but it’s on my list.

Book 2: You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero

You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero is a motivational guide designed to help readers overcome self-doubt and achieve their full potential. Through a blend of personal moments, humor, and practical advice, Sincero encourages readers to identify and change self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors. The book covers topics such as goal-setting, mindset shifts, and the importance of self-love. With a no-nonsense approach, Sincero inspires readers to embrace their inner strength, take bold actions, and create the life they truly desire. This book is a spirited call to break free from limitations and live a life of passion and purpose.

  • Why this book: If you don’t think you’re a badass, no one else will. That’s a concept I’ve carried with me throughout my life, even down to support. If I don’t support or believe in myself, no one else will. It starts with me. Sometimes, I lose that mentality, but I know that if I continue to read and grow my mind, I will never lose it because I can always refer back to what I’ve read and remember the beliefs and behaviors Jen Sincero teaches. I haven’t read this book yet, but it’s on my list.

Book 3: Creating Money: Attracting Abundance by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer (current read)

Creating Money: Attracting Abundance by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer is a transformative guide that delves into the principles of manifesting financial prosperity and abundance in all areas of life. The authors, through the channeled wisdom of their spiritual guides Orin and DaBen, offer practical tools and techniques to help readers shift their mindset towards wealth creation. The book explores concepts such as visualization, affirmations, and energy alignment, providing a holistic approach to attracting and managing money. With a focus on both spiritual and practical aspects, Creating Money aims to empower readers to overcome financial blocks, embrace their inner abundance, and create a life of prosperity and fulfillment.

  • Why this book: Who wouldn’t want to know how to create money and keep it coming? I learned how to manifest from an old friend, and once I saw how things began to unfold in my life just by changing how I think and speak, I knew I wanted more. That’s when I came across Creating Money. It has helped me grow with manifesting. You get what you want by how you think and talk.

Book 4: Love Yourself First: A Guide to Self-Love and Happiness by Marc Reklau

Love Yourself First: A Guide to Self-Love and Happiness by Marc Reklau is a comprehensive manual on the transformative power of self-love. Reklau dives into the importance of cultivating a positive relationship with oneself to achieve true happiness and fulfillment. Through practical advice, exercises, and real-life examples, the book guides readers on a journey of self-discovery, encouraging them to embrace their worth, set healthy boundaries, and nurture their emotional well-being. By emphasizing the significance of self-compassion and acceptance, Reklau provides readers with the tools to build a strong foundation of self-love, ultimately leading to more meaningful and joyful connections with others and a richer, more satisfying life.

Why this book: Learning to love yourself is not something you’re taught growing up. It’s something you learn as you grow older, from the first heartbreak, first disappointment, or first "no." We have to teach ourselves to love ourselves first. Learning to love yourself isn’t easy, as some may see it as selfish, but there’s nothing wrong with choosing to love yourself first. If you can’t love yourself, how can anyone else love you? It starts with you. After I finish reading Creating Money, I will be reading Love Yourself First. Especially in a fast-paced career, I sometimes forget to choose myself, and this book will guide me and give me the foundation of self-love that I’m looking for.

If you read or choose to read any of these books, come back and comment on what you read and what changed in you. We want to hear your thoughts! Happy reading! 📚🌞
