I’m always going to have a soft spot for Lauren Asher and her books. I remember interviewing her and immediately thinking she was such a sweet genuine person.

That’s why when I saw Bloom Books was republishing her Dirty Air series, I had to cover it. This is one of the series of hers I’ve never read so I had to start with Throttled.

If you haven’t been living under a rock, these are her Formula 1 romance, and what a way to start things off. Throttled took me by surprise with just how fun and spicy it was, resulting in me reading it quickly despite having a busy week.

Whether you started with Lauren Asher’s Dreamland Billionaires series or just want something different from her, Throttled will make you put the pedal to the metal for the next installment.

Throttled is a romance from Lauren Asher that you won’t put down.

Before getting into my review, let me just share that I know nothing about Formula 1 so if you’re like me, don’t be nervous. Lauren Asher does an amazing job of explaining how it works and sharing everything you need to know if you’re a newbie.

Throttled follows Maya who recently graduated from college and is traveling with her brother, Santi who is a recently famous Formula 1 driver. He has had a run-in with F1 bad boy, Noah Slade who is now his teammate. While these two can’t help but dislike each other, Maya can only hide her attraction for Noah for so long.

Maya begins by making social media content with the drivers, resulting in her forming a friendship with Noah. Since Noah is a playboy and Maya doesn’t do casual, they seem doomed to fail. However, Lauren Asher doesn’t let it go that way and instead, gives us such amazing character development for Noah.

While Noah seems one way, he has a lot of trauma and baggage which we find out throughout the course of the story. Then with Maya, she’s dealing with being her brother’s shadow and it’s not easy. Even so, Lauren Asher makes the relationship between the two feel natural and believable which I adored.

Even though the third-act conflict felt a little predictable, it ended up with someone getting what they deserved. She also did an amazing job, setting up for future books which makes me more excited to read the rest of the Dirty Air series. Whether you’re craving a unique sports romance, want some spice, or just love Lauren Asher, Throttled is a must-read this May.

Throttled by Lauren Asher is out now where books are sold.
