Southern Charm's Craig Conover partnered with Heluva Good! to kick off summer

When it comes to summer fun, there are some things we love, including finding the perfect snacks. And nothing says summer snacking quite like finding the perfect dips. Luckily for us, Heluva Good! Dips deliver when it comes to delicious treats and snacking flexibility.

Just in time for the warmer summer months, Craig Conover of Southern Charm has partnered with Heluva Good! on a special release and giveaway. Culturess: What made you want to work with Heluva Good! Dip on this promotion?

"I have so many incredible memories from my childhood of eating chips and Heluva Good! Dip at the pool starting with my grandparents when I was little, and then with my parents as a teenager, and now in my very own backyard. The Heluva Good Sunsational Dip table is the perfect solution for my entertaining needs - it's a 3-in-1 custom table that holds my veggies, chips, dips and drinks! Now I can have as many friends over as I want to make new memories with them and our favorite dip. "

Culturess: Do you have a favorite summer dip or do you have favorite dips based on your mood?

"Heluva Good! French Onion will always be my go-to, it’s my comfort food and it's always great to have on hand when people are coming over unexpectedly. My favorite summer dip is Heluva Good! Jalapeno Cheddar, because it is great to pair with fresh vegetables and pretzels. "

Culturess: Which dips would you pair with some of your castmates (and why)?

"Austen - Buttermilk Ranch, I don’t know why, but it reminds me of Austen.
Shep - Buffalo Wing, because he is always eating Buffalo Wings.
Madison - Jalapeno Cheddar, because she’s spicy, and the dip has a little bit of a kick.
Paige - Bacon Horseradish, because she’s a bold woman and that dip has a bold flavor. "

Culturess: What are some of your favorite summer snacks?

"Chips and Heluva Good Dip is my favorite summer snack. I also love salt and vinegar chips. I really just love dips, so I'll also always have a simple salsa on hand, sometimes from my garden. "

Culturess: Can you tell us more about your new restaurant/bar? What can guests expect when they walk in the door?

"After opening Carriage House in New York City with Austen, we decided to do something in our backyard in Charleston. Our new bar is called By The Way and we have incredible partners with the Uptown Hospitality Group. We wanted the bar to feel like you are in the West Village of New York City. It will be a bit more of an elevated, upscale experience than what you would generally find on King Street. We will have really excellent light bites that have been curated by our incredible chef. We will also have a fun, fresh cocktail menu designed by Austen and I, but it’s not a cocktail bar. It will be a little of everything and we’ll always have music playing. "

Culturess: Who inspires you when it comes to work and food?

"Martha Stewart - I want to be the male Martha Stewart. She is so equally talented in so many different facets of creating, crafting and cooking. I learned how to cook from Alton Brown and Emeril Lagasse, and I also learned a lot from Martha Stewart and Julia Child. But I think Martha’s Stewart's business acumen is what the goal is. I want Sewing Down South to be in every room in your home. I want to continue to slowly build businesses so that we don’t lose the quality, whether it's our bars, our drinks with Spritz Society, or Sewing Down South. "

Culturess: What's one thing you wish more people knew about you?

"I wasn’t born knowing how to sew or garden or cook or bee keep. I learned from Google and YouTube and just started. That’s what I’m trying to share with people, is that the barrier of entry to a lot of these fun and healthy hobbies is not that high. It’s ok to not be good at stuff, and it’s ok to learn and grow. I want people to know that the results you see from me now have taken years of work. One foot in front of the other really adds up."
