Nineteen to almost twenty years ago, a promo for comedian Chris Rock's live-action autobiographical comedy series Everybody Hates Chris introduced a clear-cut narration from Rock fantasizing about what it would be like being a teenager. The same show makes a return but as an animated sitcom which has a set premiere date reported by TVLine.

The Everybody Still Hate Chris Instagram post shows the five core characters seated in a diner that mirrors the exact restaurant in the final episode of Everybody Hates Chris.

This newly imagined comedy series will return Terry Crews, and Tichina Arnold who will voice Julius and Rochelle with Chris Rock providing the narration work as in the first show Everybody Hates Chris (2005-2009) on his experience growing up as the skinny kid from a working-class family in the1980s, Brooklyn, New York.

Tyler James Williams played a young Chris in the live-action comedy series, this time around Saturdays' Tim Johnson Jr. will provide the voiceover as the Young Chris alongside Ozioma Akagha will provide the voice of Chris's younger sister Tonya, Terrence Little Gardenhigh provides the voiceover for Chris' younger brother Drew. Also, Kung Fu Panda star Gunnar Sizemore will be the voice of Chris's only friend Greg.

As someone who entered junior high school at the same time the original show Everybody Hates Chris was about to premiere, there is a potential that this show will succeed as it did. Of course, the series first aired almost 20 years ago now.

Everybody Hates Chris premiered right around the time when a generation was forging their experiences in middle school. It might do the same for the next ones, but this version may reach viewership for those who watched and grew up with the original show. Everybody Still Hates Chris' Instagram post has drawn influences to other animated series focus on the family unit and everyday life from the working class point-of-view.
