Emily will be coming back to Paris, or Rome, but definitely Netflix, as Emily In Paris was renewed for a fifth season.

Emily In Paris concluded its fourth season with Emily, at least temporarily, moving to Italy for her latest job promotion. As Emily was beginning to find love with her latest romantic partner, Marcello, it appeared that everything was looking up for Emily after the unfortunate ending of her relationship with Gabriel.

Since the beginning, fans have been questioning how Emily could truly succeed in Paris when she does not speak French, something that the season four finale directly references as Emily prepares to work in Italy while not speaking Italian. However, season four also finally addresses the language barrier in another way, and it does so in a fashion that season five can move forward with.

During an argument, Gabriel yells at Emily in frustration in French, showing his annoyance and struggle surrounding the communication issues Gabriel shares with Emily, and how some of it comes from Emily not knowing French, therefore preventing Emily and Gabriel from truly understanding each other to the best of their abilities.

At the conclusion of season four, Emily appears to finally hear that, leaving a voicemail for Gabriel spoken in French, a moment that appears to be a sign to Gabriel that he might want to give his romance with Emily another chance. Does that mean that Emily will finally be shown to begin to understand and strive to learn French and Italian?

While no one can truly learn a language overnight, it would certainly be a fun addition to the show to portray Emily's growth in her career being followed by her ability to communicate in English, French, and Italian. While Emily was shown in French lessons before, season five could be the opportunity to grow in those lessons, seeing Emily's understanding of the language grow.

Lily Collins has been a breath of fresh air, portraying a fun and enjoyable performance as Emily Cooper that brings viewers coming back for more. There are several directions season five could go in its professional and personal storylines, and it will be exciting to see what happens next.
