Streaming has gotten significantly more expensive over the years as the various options have attempted to find ways to charge more from their customers. Netflix has tried to encourage their viewers to stick around longer by breaking their show's seasons into parts, noticeably shown in Bridgerton, Stranger Things, You, and Cobra Kai, which all had their most recent seasons delivered in multiple installments rather than in full.

Although Disney+'s latest price raise might be a reason to choose Disney+'s potentially less expensive bundle packs with Hulu, ESPN+, and MAX, it is still frustrating for fans, especially when Disney+'s inventory might not be worth the price raise, ads, or no ads.

Disney+'s library is great, but it lacks the originality and options offered on Netflix, Hulu, MAX, or Amazon Prime Video. Disney+ has yet to embrace the era of streaming originals outside of controversial Marvel shows. The current longest-running Disney+ originals so far include High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which could pretty much consider itself a guaranteed hit due to its connection to the High School Musical phenomenon, The Mandalorian, due to the popularity of Star Wars, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch, another Star Wars franchise-based series.

Rather than creating anything new, Disney+'s biggest specialty has been based on expanding already existing franchises. Anything new Disney+ does offer gets canceled fairly quickly, such as Doogie Kameāloha M.D. and Big Shot each being canceled after two seasons, along with many others that have not made it beyond the two-season mark.

At its best, Disney+ can offer new insights into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars franchises. At its most common, Disney+ is a nostalgia binge of Disney Channel Originals, Disney and Pixar films, and Marvel and Star Wars hits. Although that is still a solid amount of projects to have at your fingertips, there still should have been a heavier focus on creating content that surrounds longevity.

Disney+ never reached its potential to become some alternate form of Disney Channel, Freeform, and ABC with new original content. The streaming service also rarely put out a show that reached the same popularity as those on other streaming services. Disney+ is a great option for all ages, and if you are a person who loves Disney or is someone with a Disney-loving family, where Disney+ is constantly playing in your house, then maybe the price rises are something that you can embrace because the streaming service is being used so often.

However, if you are someone who has Disney+ because you love Disney, but are mostly using it to wait on the release of new projects after their theatrical releases, nothing that it offers justifies rising the prices so high.

Disney+'s new prices will jump to $9.99 per month with ads and $15.99 per month with no ads.

Hulu will also be rising its prices. To watch Hulu without ads, the price will be jumping to $18.99 per month. Hulu + Live TV with ads has been raised to $82.99 per month and Hulu + Live TV without ads has been raised to $95.99 per month.

ESPN+'s price has also been raised to $11.99 per month.
