Dark Restraint is a dark and decadence romance from Katee Robert

When it comes to romance series, Dark Olympus by Katee Robert is in a league of its own including Dark Restraint.

For those who have been following the series, each book has been focusing on a different pairing with some being classics such as Hades and Persephone in Neon Gods or Helen, Patroclus, and Achilles in Wicked Beauty.

Once you think you have the series nailed down, Katee Robert pulls out their next trick and you have no idea what you’re in for. After hearing them talk about Dark Restraint last year, I was incredibly excited.

Going into Dark Restraint, I had no idea this book was going to be everything I needed and more so I’d like to thank Sourcebooks Casablanca for sending me an ARC and a finished copy.

Dark Restraint is a dark and thrilling installment you must read.

As with my other reviews, I’m going to try to be as vague as possible. With that being said if you’re interested, Dark Olympus by Katee Robert is a good place to start if you’re looking for some dark romance. These books progressively get darker while also having engaging plots, characters, and of course, steamy romances.

With that being said, we’re following the events of Midnight Ruin with Ariadne. As Minos’ daughter, she’s had a target on her back from the time she showed up in Olympus. Her circumstances are looking a little different now and in honor of saving herself, Ariadne decides to go to the other side to help take down her father and try to save as many people as she can.

However, things aren’t as easy since Ariadne left the Minotaur behind. Even though he’s tough and gruff to everyone, Ariadne is his kryptonite. These two are like magnets and they can’t seem to stop wanting to be around each other. Given Minos’ orders to have the Minotaur kill Ariadne, you can imagine why things aren’t looking up for the two of them.

Katee Robert really upped the ante with Dark Restraint. Not only was it darker and grittier, but it felt like there was so much more angst and tension within the relationship. The plot also got even more intense, especially in the book. Once you read it, you’ll know what I’m talking about but it gets me so excited for what’s to come in Sweet Obsession.

It feels like I say this every single time I finish another Dark Olympus book but it makes me want to go back and reread the whole series. The way that Katee Robert weaves these webs together is just amazing. If you’re a fan of the Dark Olympus books or need to get caught up, then you don’t want to miss Dark Restraint.
