Bridgerton season 3 trailer is dripping with Penelope's and Colin's newfound romance
Bridgerton has a new romance brewing in season 3. In the trailer, which Netflix dropped on April 11th, Penelope Featherton (Nicola Coughlan) is hunting for a husband, and her friend, the dashing Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), is more than happy to help her out. For fans who passionately 'ship' Colope, the development is one step closer to complete fruition.
Feeling alone and desiring to branch out on her own, Penelope accepts Colin's offer of attracting a beau who'll take Lady Featherton's hand in marriage. As the cinematic trailer flows, Colin and Penelope soon realize that there may be something more than just a platonic friendship. But it takes a makeover on Penelope's part and a potential suitor named Lord Debling (Sam Phillips) for the emotions to flourish.
Colope started with angst, for Colin ridiculed Penelope in season 2 and her decision to move on from her yearning crush on him. They grew to respect one another, with Colin feeling remorseful of his prior treatment. However, according to the unofficial law of TV relationships, angst occurs in several circumstances before the big leap into love.
Colin's brothers, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Benedict (Luke Thompson), noticed something different about him, and it's not just his "sturdy" physique. Perhaps they're sensing a new chapter is about to begin for Colin. After all, Anthony and Benedict have found their respective partners. Now, it's Colin's turn in the romance circle.

Upon learning his growing feelings for Penelope, Colin asks his mother, Lady Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) a striking question.
"Mother, do you believe the best foundation for love is friendship?"
"It is rare, but you must follow your heart," she replies.
Will Colin and Penelope follow their hearts to true love, or step onto another path?
When will season 3 of Bridgerton come out?
The third season of Bridgerton will be divided into two parts on Netflix, with the first half premiering on May 16th and the latter on June 13th, comprising eight episodes. The series is Shonda Rhimes' first scripted production for the streamer.
The Regency Era period drama is based on Julia Quinn's book series, which has the same title. Each novel is then the inspiration for a season. In Penelope's and Colin's case, their story is from the fourth book, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, published in 2002.
