Francesca had never been a strong presence in Bridgerton in the first two seasons, so her more stable appearance is matched by her debut to society is actually a fair set up.

In one regard, it can almost feel forced, pushing this character that had barely been present in the series previously onto center stage. In another, stating that Francesca is an introvert who has no interest in the socializing that comes before finding a match or the overwhelming sensation of the marriage market could be a justifying statement for why she was hardly ever seen in large crowds, even if she had been too young to enter society in previous seasons.

While season three is Colin and Penelope's love story, having Francesca enter the fold in a more poignant story does the important job of laying the foundation for her character when, assuming Bridgerton continues to be renewed, does reach the season of her love story.

Bridgerton is also doing a better job of incorporating Benedict into the fold of the story, even though it comes at the expense of Anthony and Kate's absence for most of the first four episodes.

Always on the outskirts, Benedict has never been a forefront sibling, so to begin having him be more included has done the job of fleshing out his personality. He is starting to look more like a person in his own right, rather than one of the older Bridgerton brothers that exist in the background.

If seasons four does turn out to be Benedict's love story, season three has been doing a better job of laying the groundwork to make his storyline more interesting to watch.

Throughout the first half of season three, Bridgerton has done well at keeping Francesca and Benedict as consistent supporting characters amidst Colin and Penelope's growing romance, while Eloise also holds onto her consistent leading presence, especially as she is the only one to know the truth of Penelope's identity of Lady Whistledown.

As for the two youngest Bridgerton siblings, Gregory and Hyacinth mostly remain on the sidelines. But, even they are starting to have slightly more involvement in group scenes as they grow older and prepare for their upcoming introductions to society.

There is still plenty of time left in season three with four episodes left to premiere. But, if the second half of season three continues down this road, it looks like Bridgerton is improving its use of the rest of the family.
