The end of the year can be bittersweet but there’s one thing to get excited about and that’s romance books.

Whether you’re waiting for your favorite author’s next book or want something completely new, there’s plenty to choose from on our list. This is just a list of my most anticipated releases for the first half of 2024.

Of course, you can console your favorite bookish website if you’re looking for more or if you don’t see your favorite on here. Honestly, there are so many exciting books coming out in 2024, and I don’t even know where to start but I wanted to start with 24 books as it’s going to be 2024.

No doubt there are going to be more than that but these are some on my radar and I think should be on your radar for next year.

These are 24 romance books we’re excited about releasing in the first half of 2024.

Since we're talking about 6 months' worth of books, I'm going to try to feature at least 4 titles from each month. Some months might have more while some months might have less but let's start with some January releases and there are SO many good ones to start off the year.

1. Midnight Ruin by Katee Robert (January 16, 2024)

The first book on my list is the next book in Katee Robert's Dark Olympus series: Midnight Ruin. I will say that I've recently read my ARC of this book and LOVED that. Then you might be wondering why it's on my list. With each new release in the series, I read the last book and then listen to the next book on audio.

This is Eurydice, Charon, and Orpheus' romance, and what a time it is. This book is sexy, fun, and everything you never knew you needed. Plus the political stakes really pick up in this one which is something we can all appreciate.

The Bride Bet

2. The Bride Bet by Tessa Dare (January 16, 2024)

The next book is a historical romance we've been waiting years for. Ever since Tessa Dare pushed back the release date for this, I've been dying for it. Thankfully, we don't have to wait much longer and we'll all be able to read it. The Bride Bet is the 4th and final book in the Girl Meets Duke series.

The story follows Nicola as we find out that she's secretly engaged. We were all shocked at the end of Book 3 so I'm excited to read her romance and see this series finally wrap up. Plus it's Tessa Dare so what's not to be excited about?

3. The Breakup Tour by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka (January 23, 2024)

There are some romance books that just call to me and that's exactly what The Breakup Tour did. I have loved everything I've read by these two authors and I'm SO excited for this one. Not only is it Taylor Swift-inspired but it's also a second-chance romance between two touring musicians.

I mean how could you say no to this? Thankfully, Berkley already sent me an ARC and I'm TOO excited to pick this one up. Plus I have an excuse to listen to Taylor Swift while reading.

4. The Takeover by Cara Tanamachi (January 30, 2024)

The next book is one I'm excited about for multiple reasons. First, I've heard awesome things about this author. Second, I love the color, and third, the pitch was amazing. This is about Nami who is just looking to catch a break after a few bad months and it gets worse when she reunites with her high-school nemesis, Jae.

This time, he's trying to take over her company and honestly, I'm just here for this. There is something about that second chance and former nemeses who still dislike each other that just works.

Bride by Ali Hazelwood

5. Bride by Ali Hazelwood (February 6, 2024)

Moving onto February, I had to include Bride by Ali Hazelwood. I’ve been reading Ali Hazelwood for years and while I didn’t love her debut, I’ve read the two others I’ve read from her. However, when I saw she was coming out with a paranormal romance, I knew I had to read it because it was something different from her.

This book follows Misery who is an outcast vampyre and she ends up deciding to marry Lowe who is a Were. It ends up being a marriage of convenience and I am SO here for that. This just sounds so different and such a fun one to read ahead of Valentine’s Day 2024.

Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey

6. Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey (Feb. 13, 2024)

I feel like Tessa Bailey always sucks me in with these books and this one is no expectation as it follows Wells who is a golfer that’s sort of an antihero. He’s not feeling his career choice so he quits and his main supporter, Josephine starts to question her loyalty towards him. It all changes when he realizes his mistake and asks her to be his new caddy in exchange for half of his prize money.

This premise sounds absolutely bonkers and I’m here for it. I don’t know if it’s the cover or my love for sports romances but I’m excited.

Till There Was You

7. Till There Was You by Lindsay Hameroff (Feb. 20, 2024)

This book has been on my radar for months and I can’t believe the release date is almost here. I don’t know if it was in part due to the cover and a friend mentioned meeting this author at Steamy Lit Con.

This book has a little bit of everything as it follows Lexi who is a culinary student and she meets Jake, an aspiring musician. They have a night of passion and then go their separate ways but can’t stop thinking about each other. This ends up being about fame, second chances and hopefully, finding the person you’ve been looking for.

8. The Partner Plot by Kristina Forest (Feb. 27, 2024)

The final book for February is one I’ve been thinking about for months. I was lucky enough to have the publisher reach out about this one and I’m still excited. This book follows Lily’s sister, Violet as she goes to Vegas and ends up marrying her high-school boyfriend, Xavier. While it might seem like a bad idea at first, it’s clear these two still have some lingering feelings for each other.

I don’t know about you, but I love Kristina Forest’s adult romances and I hope she keeps writing them. This one is on my list and I know I’ll be picking up a copy on release day to match her adult book which was The Neighbor Favor.

9. This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan (March 5, 2024)

I mean how could I make a list and not include Kennedy Ryan? I’ve been reading Kennedy Ryan for years and her books have always gutted me. With that being said, I love reading them and her as an author.

Anyway, This Could Be Us is Soledad’s story which was a side character in Before I Let Go. I honestly don’t want to know much about this one aside from the fact that it’s going to ruin me. Regardless, I’m excited about it and am already foaming at the mouth, staring at my ARC.

10. Happily Never After by Lynn Painter (March 12, 2024)

Moving onto some more light-hearted fare, I had to include Happily Never After by Lynn Painter. I read a few books by this author in 2023 and enjoyed them so I had to include this one. Her books are like popcorn to me so I gobble them up fast and have such a fun time with them.

This book has early 2000s rom-com vibes and follows these two people who work together to professionally object during a wedding. It sounds absolutely bonkers but also really fun so I had to put it on my list.

11. A Touch of Chaos by Scarlett St. Clair (March 12, 2024)

Another March 12th release is A Touch of Chaos by Scarlett St. Clair. This is the final book in her Hades x Persephone series. Considering how the last book ended, I am really excited and intrigued to read this. I can’t get into any details since it’s the last book in a series but I know this one has a lot of fans and hype surrounding it already.

12. The Succubus’s Prize by Katee Robert (March 18, 2024)

The Succubus’s Prize is the 4th book in Katee Robert’s A Deal With a Demon series and it follows these different women who end up making a deal with a demon. I honestly didn’t read the last book yet but I’m still excited for this series. Katee Robert just knows how to get me excited and want to read her books. I mean she’s already been featured on this list so this one seems obvious.

OLD FLAMES AND NEW FORTUNES

13. Old Flames and New Fortunes by Sarah Hogle (April 2, 2024)

If there is one book I am foaming at the mouth for, it is Old Flames and New Fortunes by Sarah Hogle. She didn’t have a 2023 release so I have been waiting for this one and it’s a second-chance romance with a dash of fake-dating. This one sounds messy and fun along with being incredibly soft and sweet which is what Sarah Hogle is known for.

Honestly, I don’t need to know anything about this book because I know I’ll be picking it up.

Only and Forever

14. Only and Forever by Chloe Liese (April 9, 2024)

Please tell me I'm not the only one excited for Only and Forever by Chloe Liese. If you read romance books, you’re probably familiar with this author or this series. This is the 7th and final book in the Bergman Brothers series. This is Viggo’s story and I don’t need to know the pairing, the tropes, or anything.

I will be picking this one up and talking about it on Culturess. If you’re not caught up on this series, you still have plenty of time as Berkley republishes them.

15. The Kiss Countdown by Etta Easton (April 9, 2024)

Another book coming out on April 9th that I’m excited about is The Kiss Countdown which is also from Berkley. This is a Black love romance and it’s a fake-dating romance between an event planner and an astronaut. I don’t think I’ve ever read an astronaut romance before but I’m so ready.

Coupled with the adorable cover and the fact that it’s a debut, I’m SOLD. This one seems like the perfect book to pick up as we get closer to spring weather.

16. Out of The Office by A.H. Cunningham (April 23, 2024)

Moving into later in the month, we’re getting a new book from A.H. Cunningham which is her first traditionally published romance. This is being published by Afterglow Books and is a vacation romance. This is one I don’t know much about but I just love the cover and am excited to pick up a book from A.H. Cunningham.

17. Love, Lies and Cherry Pie by Jackie Lau (May 7, 2024)

Jackie Lau is one of my favorite romance authors and every time she releases a book, I know I’ll pick it up. As a hybrid author, I had to feature her traditionally-published romance book which is Love, Lies and Cherry Pie. This is a rom-com about Emily who is looking to get her mother off her back so she decides to fake-date her mother’s friend’s son and they might have an unexpected connection.

Honestly, I will read anything Jackie Lau writes so I don’t have to know much to pick it up. She is one of those authors who rarely steers me wrong so her book had to make the cut.

18. Lore Olympus, Volume 6 by Rachel Smythe (May 7, 2024)

Moving onto the other May 7th release, I am trash for the Lore Olympus series. I have every single volume in hardcover and I will pick this one up. It’s a series I love and will always appreciate so if you haven’t picked it up yet, you’re truly missing out.

19. Blood on the Tide by Katee Robert (May 14, 2024)

Another month, another Katee Robert release. I swear to god, I do read other authors but she has so many series I love and can’t get enough of. I enjoyed Hunt on Dark Waters but I think Blood on the Tide is an f/f fantasy romance between a vampire and selkie. I don’t even know if I’ve read a pairing like that before so I’m just excited about it. Plus it’s Katee Robert and as you can tell, I’m a fan.

20. A Little Kissing Between Friends by Chencia C. Higgins (May 28, 2024)

Keeping with the sapphic theme, A Little Kissing Between Friends is an upcoming f/f romance from Chencia C. Higgins. This is part of the Harlequin Afterglow line which is quickly become a line I need to keep my eye on. This is a friends-to-lovers romance between a dancer at a strip club and her best friend who is a rising music producer. Honestly, you don’t have to tell me more as Chencia C. Higgins is another author who always captivates me with her writing and romances.

21. Isabel and the Rogue by Liana De la Rosa (June 4, 2024)

Starting things off in June, we’re getting the next book in The Luna Sisters series. This time, we’re getting Isabel’s story and the romance she has with British War Hero. Even though I’m not a huge historical romance reader, Liana De la Rosa just works for me.

Plus the covers of this series are just undeniably great. If you haven’t picked up this series yet, then you’re doing yourself a disserve as a romance reader.

22. Pardon My Frenchie by Farrah Rochon (June 4, 2024)

Each year, I’m always on the hunt for more romance books featuring dogs. This year, we’re getting Pardon My Frenchie. This is an adorable enemies-to-lovers romance featuring Ashanti and Thad who end up having to deal with a budding romance between their dogs. Of course, the two can’t stand each other but it’s clear they end up falling for each other, too.

This book sounds like it’s going to be incredibly fun and cute. Plus the cover is just so adorable.

Not In Love

23. Not In Love by Ali Hazelwood (June 11, 2024)

I had to feature the other Ali Hazelwood release we’re getting on my list. This is another one of her Steminist romances. Rue is a biotech engineer and Eli is trying to buy the company she works for. Of course, it’s a major conflict of interest if the two start hooking up and I’m sure you can guess what happens. Considering that I’ve already featured one Ali Hazelwood title on my list, she’s one of those popcorn authors I can’t help but want to read no matter what she’s writing.

24. The Art of Catching Feelings by Alicia Thompson (June 18, 2024)

The final book on the list is The Art of Catching Feelings by Alicia Thompson. This is a romance between a professional baseball player and his heckler?! I don’t know how this is going to work but I’m here for it. Alicia Thompson continues to impress me so I know I’m going to love this book.
