Theresa

Theresa, more than anyone else, could probably relate most to Justin's mortal wife. They share a similarity in being married to ex-wizards, and although it is unclear how involved with magic Justin's kids are, he will certainly be stepping up to teach magic to at least one new student. Although Theresa loved her kids, and helped ground them in a mortal reality, it would be fun to see her commiserate with someone else who finally understands her point of view.

Theresa gives Alex important advice about love and dating following Mason's false revelation of still being in love with Juliet in "Wizards Vs. Werewolves," a scene that is one of the most genuine and heart-wrenching that appears in a Disney Channel show. Such a scene could be recreated with Justin now that the sequel would place Justin in a more emotionally mature place as a married adult.

But, Theresa was also a very comical presence on the show as well, and could bring that charm and wit to Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, especially having to watch her endure even more magical chaos.

In the years since Wizards of Waverly Place ended, Maria Canals-Barrera has appeared in another Disney project, offering her voice in four episodes of the Disney+ series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder.
