PlayStation Plus Essential tier subscribers have had plenty of hot and cold months for free video games with this subscription service. And if you've been putting off buying a bigger-name game that launched in the fall, well you are in luck!
Below are your free games for the month of March:
- Dragon Age: The Veilguard
- Sonic Colors: Ultimate
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection
First up is Dragon Age: The Veilguard. It didn't get the best reviews across the board, but the fact that we're getting a AAA game that only released five months ago for free already is a pretty big deal. So if you heard the middling reviews and were hesitant to spend money on it... well, good news, everyone! Now it's free!
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is your standard RPG that you'd expect from the Dragon Age series. Highlights of the game are the gorgeous environments and scenery in almost every location, consistent cut scenes, and one of the coolest things it does is remember your dialogue options, i.e. an NPC will comment about something you said earlier.
Next up is Sonic Colors: Ultimate, which is a remaster of the 2010 game that released in 2021. This version includes improved lighting, support for 4K/60 FPS, a new remixed soundtrack, and some other minor gameplay updates. This is an incredibly fun Sonic game that takes things back to their roots, keeps it light and funny, and is honestly the perfect lighthearted sort of game for the month of March.
You want to talk about remasters? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection is a collection of 13 remasters of classic games, including TMNT: Turtles in Time, the original TMNT arcade game, and 11 other games. You are literally getting games from almost every single different console across the years and generations. Honestly, you may have forgotten that half of these games even existed.
March's PlayStation Plus free games are available to download starting Tuesday, March 4th and available until April 1st.
