Sean Baker
Since a very young age, Sean Baker has been fascinated with homemade movies and continued his love for movies professionally by becoming a director, cinematographer, and screenwriter. He is armed with a degree in Film Studies from NYU and is well-versed in non-linear editing, but what makes him a good director beyond his qualifications is his ability to bring authentic characters, neorealism-influenced filmmaking, shooting films in real settings, and unique stories to life in his independent films.
His renowned movies include The Florida Project, Tangerine, Four Letter Words, Red Rocket, and Starlet. He has been nominated six times at the Independent Spirit Awards and has brought home the Robert Altman Award for Starlet. On his Letterboxd, aside from sharing his views on the 90s and modern movies, he also provides information about streaming platforms and details about Blu-ray extras.

Rob Coleman
Rob Coleman is a famous animation director who currently works for Industrial Light & Magic's Sydney, which is a division of Lucasfilm and has, since 1975, established itself as the best in the VFX game with a repertoire spanning famous movies and series. He has earned two Oscar nominations for Best Visual Effects for Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Aside from mainly working for Star Wars, his works also extend to other franchises like Men In Black, Star Trek Generations, and The Lego.
Coleman's Letterboxd account suggests that he likes to express his thoughts on 90s feature-length movies and animated films that aren't specifically his work. Also, it looks like he was quite impressed by Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, Dune, Wicked: Part I, The Nightmare before Christmas, and others, considering he has given these movies a 5-star rating.

Joe Lynch
Most of Joe Lynch's work as a director falls under horror, that's because he is certainly a die-hard lover of the genre. Aside from being a passionate filmmaker, he is also an actor who has appeared in projects like Holliston, Point Blank, Terror Firmer, and others. In 2023, he helmed Suitable Flesh, an unconventional horror tale, which is a blend of his distinct filmmaking style along with inspiration taken from Stuart Gordon's Lovecraft stories. In the 90s, he also directed a few short films and has also served as a cinematographer. Other best works as director include Creepshow, Mayhem, Point Blank, and Knight of Badassdom.
Certainly, Lynch's Letterboxd pretty much conveys his love for horror; as he provides detailed reviews on them and has a huge repertoire of liked horror films, which can prove to be useful suggestions for spooky movie fans. However, he had put a disclaimer on his profile about not taking his reviews seriously as he is not a certified critic.

David F. Sandberg
The passion for making films stemmed from David F. Sandberg right from a young age, as he used to take his father's VHS-C to make movies. Soon, his love for cinema transformed into a professional filmmaking career, where initially he got to learn a lot about the process from his "mentor," Svante Rosbery, at a local film center, where he used to work.
From the start, Sandberg's interests leaned towards making sci-fi and horror movies but at that time he lacked funding. He didn't let it serve as a restriction; rather, he made a film with available resources called Lights Out, which was a total commercial success. Then, he got associated with directing Annabelle Creation and lent his voice to Mister Mind in his helmed Shazam. Well, Sandberg was up to self-constructive criticism when he used to be active on Letterboxd, and it's good to see a director incorporating humor, self-awareness, and criticism in a review about his films.

Allan Arkush
Imagine studying under the wing of iconic director Martin Scorcese. Sounds like a dream, no? Well, for Allan Arkush, it wasn't; he was one of the students when Scorsese became a faculty advisor and teacher to several filmmaking students at NYU. Since then, his career has seen many changes.
First, he used to be a crew member, then became a taxi driver until he got an opportunity to work with Roger Corman's New World Pictures, where he used to assist in editing trailers and TV spots. Mostly, Arkush is renowned for his Rock N' Roll High School movie, whose idea came to him seemingly due to his love for collecting music albums and believing that there is a voice for his feelings in those records. Since 2001, after Prince Charming, he hasn't directed any more movies; however, he has been directing several episodes in several series like Nashville, Heroes Reborn, Witches of East End, NCIS, Defiance, and Crossing Jordan. Arkush's recent history suggests that he has watched most of the old and recent releases and has also written sincere reviews on the same. He especially has also reviewed his former professor Scorcese's Academy-Award-nominated, Killers of the Flower Moon.
