Barbie Celebrates Fashion Icon Claudia Schiffer With A New Doll

Barbie is celebrating Claudia Schiffer with a new doll in her likeness. Claudia Schiffer is a global fashion icon, legendary supermodel, and entrepreneur.

The new Barbie doll recreates Schiffer’s iconic runway moment from the 1994 Fall/Winter Atelier Versace show, complete with a replica of the showstopping cerulean floor-length Versace gown.

This is not the first time that Barbie has embraced Claudia Schiffer, as this edition is the fourth version of a Claudia Schiffer Barbie in existence. But this is the first one that will be available to the public for purchase nationwide.

Claudia Schiffer has been on the cover of Vogue US sixteen times and has been a fashion inspiration for audiences around the world. She has inspired millions throughout her career due to her confidence, style, and beauty.

To celebrate her thirty-year career, Barbie also created a one-of-a-kind doll of her in 2017. The celebratory doll also lined up with the launch of her self-titled novel.

Claudia Schiffer’s 50th birthday was also celebrated by Barbie in 2020. Mattel created two one-of-a-kind Barbie dolls in Versace and Balmain dresses.

When discussing the Barbie doll, Schiffer stated,

"“My earliest memories are playing with Barbie and wishing I could be just like her. Half a century later, Mattel has made my wish come true by designing a doll in my likeness. I hope my doll can inspire all fans to dream big and follow their passions.”"

This allows Mattel to continue its trend of reaching out to audiences of all ages by capturing the likeness of a famous celebrity, in addition to how they have released dolls and toys that have connections to iconic film and television characters.

The Barbie Claudia Schiffer doll will be available for purchase on November 29th.
