Actress and former game show host Mayim Bialik is set to reprise one of her iconic roles. No, it won’t be Amy Farrah Fowler from The Big Bang Theory. Bialik is set to reprise her title role of Blossom for an upcoming revival of the NBC 90s sitcom.

From 1991 to 1995, Bialik played the opinionated teenage fashionista, who was the only female in a male-dominated household. The cast also featured Joey Lawrence as Blossom’s dimwitted brother and Jenna von Oy as her best friend Six. Ted Wass played Blossom’s father, and Michael Stoyanov was the eldest of the Russo siblings.

The comedy had a successful five-season run before being canceled in May 1995. Fans can still watch episodes of the original series on streaming services such as Hulu.

And if everything goes according to plan, fans might also see the cast reunited again.

Mayim Bialik provides a new update on Blossom revival

In this day and age, many beloved TV shows are being revived. While reboots have garnered criticism, it’s a good way to bring back nostalgia while also introducing new viewers to these classic series.

Blossom is one of the many sitcoms that is making a comeback. Bialik and the show’s creator Don Reo have been working for years on a revival despite some struggles. Well, the actress recently shared a promising update to Vanity Fair about the revival.

"“I’m happy to tell you that, yes, it’s true. All of the cast and the original creator and producers are on board, and we believe a reboot can and should exist once the strike ends.”"

However, Bialik says there will be a different concept from the original sitcom.

"“We’re hoping to reboot it not as a sitcom, though. We want to bring back these interesting, deep characters – a child of divorce, a recovering drug addict, an alcoholic – to see them in a whole new way.”"
