Witches are one of those trends in romance I can’t help but love. That’s why Witches Get Stuff Done by Molly Harper was the perfect book to come on my radar.

Additionally, Molly Harper is one of those authors I’ve been hearing about for years but have yet to pick up her stuff. She’s known for her paranormal romances and just generally writing about some unique paranormal beings.

Thankfully, I was lucky enough to get an early copy from Sourcebooks Casablanca and ended up finishing it a few days before the book was released. I’d like to thank the publisher for sending me this ARC so I’m able to share my thoughts with you.

If you’re looking for an adorable yet hard-hitting paranormal romance, Witches Get Stuff Done is an absolute must for Halloween 2023.

Start Halloween early by reading Witches Get Stuff Done by Molly Harper.

Let me start off by saying that this book was originally released as an Audible original if the title sounds familiar. It’s not being released in paperback from Sourcebooks Casablanca and what an early Halloween treat this book was.

Witches Get Stuff Done is about Riley who is heading to Starfall Point to meet up with her aunt after her mother’s passing. Unfortunately upon her arrival, Riley finds out her aunt is deceased and she’s now the caretaker of Shaddow House. Her job isn’t as easy as she imagined and Riley is tasked with taking care of the house along with some unexpected tenants.

She also runs into Edison, the town’s librarian and it’s clear there is passion among them, but the book is less about the romance and more about Riley. She’s learning more about herself, and her family and even, figuring out some unexpected abilities she has since coming to the island. I mean it’s a witchy book so I’m sure you can guess what she finds out.

In addition to taking care of the house and her relationship with Edison, Riley ends up befriending Caroline and Alice who become part of her coven. The three of them seem like such an unlikely group yet their friendship is one of the best parts of the story. I don’t want to give away what makes the house so special but those moments were hilarious and easily my favorites of the entire book.

Frankly, I don’t have many complaints about this story aside from its long chapters and the fact that it felt pretty low-stakes. If you’re looking for a fun one to read this Halloween, then I’d highly recommend picking up Witches Get Stuff Done by Molly Harper!
