Spending your Labor Day Weekend doing a bit of spring cleaning? After clearing out your garage or basement, you might find yourself in need of dropping off some donations at your local Goodwill store. Or perhaps you’re itching for some retail therapy at a discounted price. Whatever the reason might be, there are many of us who head to our local Goodwill stores on our days off for one reason or another.

You never know what treasures you might find while thrift shopping and shopping at your local Goodwill also helps ensure your money is going to a company doing good in your community. The chain is also perfect for those looking to donate their used and unwanted belongings which then might become the treasure someone else was hoping to find.

There’s never a bad reason to head to your local Goodwill and with Labor Day upon us, you might be planning a trip to your local store to kill the time.

Is Goodwill closed on Labor Day? (2023)

If you’re hoping to make a trip out to your local Goodwill on Labor Day, you’re in luck! Labor Day is not a holiday that is widely recognized by the thrift store chain which means most stores should be open on Monday despite the holiday.

Although most locations should be open on Monday, there are some locations that might be closed so we would recommend calling your local store first just to confirm their exact hours for the holiday. This can also help you know whether the store will be closing early due to the holiday which is often the case for many retailer on Labor Day.
