Somehow, Labor Day is almost here. Kids are back to school, the weather is supposedly going to get colder, and pumpkin spice lattes are already available. And with Labor Day being a holiday that most people have off, you might be looking for something to do. What better way to spend your time than in a bookstore and Barnes and Noble is almost everywhere.
The store has been around since the late 1800s and it’s one of the only chain bookstores that has outlived the giant that is Amazon. But while they may have less selection in stores compared to Amazon, there is just something so satisfying about touching an actual book. Whether it be hardcover or paperback. It’s also very calming to be surrounded by all those shelves. So many options of what to read (am I showing my inner bookworm too much??).
The problem with being in the store is actually stopping yourself from only buying one or two. You need a lot of willpower. But let’s be real; they have shopping baskets in that store for a reason. They know the bookworm’s weakness! Leaving with just one book is almost impossible.
But if you’re headed to the bookstore on Labor Day to pick up a book (or four), will they actually be open?
Is Barnes and Noble open on Labor Day? (2023)
Barnes and Noble is open on Monday, Sept 4, 2023. The store rarely closes for most holidays with the exception of Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. You may want to make sure your local store doesn’t have reduced hours or anything, but beyond that, you should be good.
So if you’re looking for a new release (especially a hardcover one), trying to find a gift for someone, or just want a place to chill out at the cafe for a few hours, you can head to Barnes and Noble on Labor Day.
