For all of you And Just Like That fans, get ready to have a reason to celebrate. Last week’s episode showcased the break up of lead characters Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Che (Sara Ramirez).

Despite the major push by writers, the controversial couple never clicked with fans as Che received a ton of negativity for breaking up Miranda and Steve’s marriage. As for Miranda, her change in personality and leaving her family for Che ended up destroying her reputation.

Now, with the couple now split up, many wonder what’s next for the exes.

Sara Ramirez offers a hint about Che’s future on And Just Like That

Che was one of the many characters introduced during Season 1 of And Just Like That. From the beginning, it was obvious the comedian would be the center of attention. While the writers wanted fans to love Che, the character unexpectedly was a major turn off to viewers.

In an interview with USA Today, Ramirez opened up about the backlash of her character.

"“It’s important we remember that LGBTQIA+ people don’t have to be perfect, just like the women don’t have to be perfect. We get to be imperfect, we get to be unlikable, and you still get to root for our humanity.”"

Currently, Che is experiencing a string of bad luck. Not only has she and Miranda called it quits. If viewers remember, her attempt at getting her TV pilot picked up also failed.

While many believe the couple’s split might signal the end of Che, Ramirez says there’s more to feature from her character.

"“They start questioning their purpose: whether they should even do comedy ever again and rediscover their value as just a regular person who is not performing anything. That’s what I think is really beautiful about their second half of their journey. They go back to a previous job working with a friend where they still have to deal with real-life stuff, but they discover a new connection with someone. They’re just trying to find their way back to who they really are. Does that include comedy? Does that include love? That’s the big question mark at the end.”"

Che has a new journey to face in her career and life without Miranda. Fans of the show can watch the breakout drama unfold with a new episode on Thursday, July 27.
