Hi Barbie: Mattel releases collection of Barbie Movie inspired dolls, where are they sold?
By Alex Mcewen
The Barbie Movie is expected to be one of the most anticipated and largest theatrical releases of the entire year. Therefore, it would have been a completely missed opportunity for Barbie maker Mattel not to capitalize on the buzz and hype with a Barbie Movie collection. Good news for Barbie fans and collectors; they did, and it is available in stores now! Below is an Instagram post with an image of all the dolls in the collection:
The main collection features six diverse dolls, inspired by the main characters in the film, the assortment includes two Ken-style dolls and four Barbie-style dolls. However, there are additional dolls that are specifically branded as collectibles, those have a higher price tag. The collection hits on many notes, it aims to be beloved by younger fans who want to play with the dolls, as well as avid Barbie collectors, as well as any adults who could perhaps go see the film and have just enough nostalgia to perhaps purchase the doll for themselves, or perhaps buy their own children their first barbie.
The dolls range in price from $24.99 to $50, if you were a Barbie girl when you were a kid, you know that does not include the dream house, Barbie’s car, or additional accessories, those are all an additional cost because they are sold separately.
If you want to purchase any of the dolls in the Barbie Movie collection, they are available everywhere Barbies are sold. However, you may have a hard time getting your hands on them, because they are a hot selling item and some are selling out quickly. Therefore, if you or one of your children want one, and you do not want to pay resell prices, head over to your preferred Barbie retailer sooner, rather than later and see The Barbie Movie in theaters starting July 21, 2023.
