If you’re a romance reader, you’re probably familiar with the publishing imprint: Bloom Books which is part of the Sourcebooks company.

Even though Bloom Books is under the Sourcebooks umbrella, things are different with the imprint. That’s a simple way of putting it but let me just share what is on the website: “Working with Bloom Books enables authors to benefit from all that a top publisher has to offer, including powerful retail relationships and deep distribution channels. This new, unconventional approach allows established authors to take greater control in creating, developing, and marketing their books.”

That’s a lot of words to say that a lot of the authors under Bloom Books will keep their eBooks in Kindle Unlimited or keep control of them while Bloom works on releasing paperback versions and helping to market their books to a wider audience at the same time.

With a lot of fun and exciting authors under Bloom Books now, I wanted to talk about six authors and books that are perfect for adding to your beach bag for beach reading.

These six Bloom Books are great for your 2023 beach reading.

1. Dare You To Hate Me by B. Celeste

The first book I had to recommend is one I know would be a classic beach read which is Dare You To Hate Me by B. Celeste. This is a  new adult romance between Ivy and Aiden who grew up as best friends until she ran away at 16. From there, the two end up meeting again with Ivy struggling while Aiden is a thriving football prospect.

The two end up rekindling their friendship and even, a bit more. Dare You To Hate Me is such a fast-paced read so it’s perfect for the beach. It’s another one available on Kindle Unlimited as well but I highly recommend getting the paperback because I love the pink on the cover.

2. Bewitched by Laura Thalassa

2023 has been my year of fantasy romance and Bloom Books is partially to blame. I’m not mad about it though as my deep dive into Laura Thalassa’s books has been amazing. I think if you’re a new reader of hers though, you can’t go wrong with her latest which is Bewitched.

Bewitched is a fantasy romance between Selene, a witch whose power causes her to lose her memories, and Memnon who thinks Selene is his long-lost wife that cursed him. From there, the two end up not being able to stay away from each other, and honestly, this one was a book I read in two sittings.

This book has a bit of everything with a great setting, a fun plot, and a mystery that keeps you guessing until the very last page. All in all, it’s a lot of fun and is a great one to pick if you’re going to be outside, relaxing.

3. Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark

Normally, I wouldn’t put unreleased books on my lists yet I had to include this one. This is another classic beach read in my opinion. Brutal Prince is the first book in Sophie Lark’s Brutal Birthright series and it follows Callum and Ava who end up having to get married to create an alliance between their two mafia families.

Considering these two don’t like each other, things quickly escalate including them trying to kill each other and it’s surprisingly entertaining. This is another great one to start if you’re new to Sophie Lark or if you’re looking for something fun yet incredibly fast-paced.

As I said, Brutal Prince doesn’t come out until July 25th so you’ll have to pick this one up when it comes out. Hopefully, you’ll be headed to the beach by then.

4. The Mister by EL James

You might recognize EL James from her Fifty Shades of Grey series but the author is back with an exciting release with Bloom Books. This time, we’re getting a twist on a Cinderella story with our main character, Alessia who starts cleaning Maxim’s house and the two have this undeniable connection. Since Alessia is coming from Albania to London, she’s barely making ends meet and the two quickly fall into a whirlwind romance.

The relationship isn’t without its challenges but I don’t want to talk too much about the plot because I feel like it’s better to go in not knowing much. It’s such a fast-paced read that you’ll end up reading it in one or two sittings despite it being longer for a romance book.

5. A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

The next Bloom Books read on my list is A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair. This is a Hades x Persephone retelling but with a more modern setting. If you have yet to start this series, I feel like it’s a good pick to pick up before heading to the beach. It’s such a fun and quick read that you’ll be through it before you know it.

I’m sure most of us know the tale of Hades x Persephone with this one making Persephone a sheltered college student and Hades, a powerful and successful club owner. Of course, there are still Gods in here yet it doesn’t feel too complicated. All in all, this is a great one to add to your beach bag if you’re looking for some fun under the sun.

Twisted Love by Ana Huang

6. Twisted Love by Ana Huang

I am a massive fan of Ana Huang so I’m always happy to feature her. The book I decided to go with is Twisted Love. This is a lighter dark romance that is a brother’s best friend romance between Alex and Ava. These two are the ultimate grumpy-sunshine pairing and they end up having this undeniable scorching romance.

While Ana Huang has a pretty significant backlist, I’d say Twisted Love is the best place to start and is one I’d be putting in my beach bag.
