Costco: Will they be open for Fourth of July 2023? (Or are they closed?)

The Fourth of July holiday is upon us and there’s nothing quite like getting to enjoy an extended weekend with family and friends. The Fourth of July, in particular, is a great time for enjoying some fun in the sun with family and friends by hosting or attending a barbecue.

Of course, in order to host a barbecue one needs to pick up supplies which typically entails a trip out to your favorite grocery stores, such as Costco. Even if you’re not hosting a gathering, but just are attending it can be nice to help grab a side dish or some treats for dessert to bring with you to the event.

While we all try to plan ahead, sometimes time gets away from you and you need to make a last-minute trip to the store on the day of the holiday. While this is easy to do on some holidays when stores remain open, it can become a bit more complicated on larger holidays that certain businesses recognized as corporate holidays.

We know Costco closes its doors for holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, but does the store maintain normal business hours on the Fourth of July?

If you’re hoping to head out to your local Costco on July 4, we have some bad news for you. Independence Day is one of a handful of holidays the brand recognizes as a corporate holiday and closes its stores for. That’s right, Costco will be closed on July 4, 2023 and will not be open during its normal Tuesday hours this week due to the holiday.

So if you happen to be planning for a Fourth of July gathering and prefer shopping at Costco, you’re going to want to plan ahead and make sure to head out to your local store before July 4 as stores will not be open on the Fourth of July.
