The Big Bang Theory is a popular TV series that has been enjoyed by millions of viewers worldwide. The show is known for its unique blend of humor, science, and pop culture references, making it entertaining and educational at the same time. However, despite its informative and science-oriented nature, the show is not without its minor plot holes. These small inconsistencies and implausible scenarios can be seen as minor distractions but do not detract from the overall enjoyment of the show. Despite its flaws, the legendary show left a lasting impact on its fans. Well, let’s take а trip down memory lane with this article and explore Chuck Lorre’s and Bill Prady’s innocent mistakes.

1. Penny and Leonard’s first time – was it AWESOME or JUST FINE?

Qualified as “just fine” or “weird” by both sleeping parties in the episodes “The Electric Can Opener Fluctuation” and “The Jiminy Conjecture”, later in season 12 Leonard characterized his first time with Penny as “Awesome“. While the bookish nerd fondly remembered the first time sleeping with the next-door beauty, the community college dropout stands by her initial analysis until the end of the show.

2. Was Bernadette A Liar Liar?

“Bernadette. Cute, sweet, vicious, little Bernadette.” Let’s take a moment to remember Miss California Quiznos 1999 participants’ manipulations. She lied to his father about Howard not wanting a baby, she deceived Sheldon to do all their chores, and she lied about working late to his husband, kids, and her best friend to avoid their fuss and enjoy a glass of wine with Amy. In fact, we don’t mind a little white lie, but then why the beloved microbiologist told everyone that they whip lying out of her in Catholic school when she was spying on Pryia?

3. Was Penny’s Mother Fat?

“If you’re going to lie, you don’t start the sentence with Sheldon misunderstood”.  We all know that the genius of the BBT has the highest level of IQ and an eidetic memory in the Nerdvana.  Well, does this mean that when he stated that  Penny’s mother is fat in season 5 based on the pictures he saw, she should be fat? Despite Sheldon’s sour comment, we actually got to see Penny’s mother on her second wedding with Leonard, thin as a rail. It’s either a plot hole or Susan lost weight. We can’t have Sheldon to be wrong, can we?

4. Who Had Asthma – Sheldon or Leonard?

While Leonard was the only one carrying an asthma inhaler everywhere and being mocked for his shortcomings, his roommate might have had a similar problem. In the episode “The Donation Oscillation” Sheldon was desperately trying to convince Zack and his wife to choose him as a sperm donor. Comparing him with their initial choice, Leonard, he pointed out that he is tall and blue-eyed, never had a cavity, and doesn’t have asthma. But is that true? Earlier in the episode “The Fuzzy Boots Corollary”  he told Leonard that they can’t get a cat for the apartment because he had allergies and asthma. Another white lie or a plot hole? If we accept the premise that Sheldon is uncomfortable with lying, then we may need to consider the plot gap theory.

5. Who Was The Snorer – Leonard Or Penny?

In the episode “The Einstein Approximation”  Sheldon once again violets Penny and Leonard’s privacy at night. Among other things, his suggestion was that Penny sleeps on her side as her snoring seemed to be worse when she was on her back. Although this came as a surprise to Kaley Cuoco’s character, Leonard validates his weird roommate’s statement.  After this late-night chit-chat, Leonard was the one who got a whole episode devoted to his snoring leading him to get nose surgery.

6. Who Was Sheldon’s Favorite Spock –  Leonard Nimoy Or Zachary Quinto?

Sheldon’s obsession with Spock was a huge part of his personality. He idolized Leonard Nimoy so much that he even forgot about his rules of germophobia and hugged Penny when she gave him Nimoy’s DNA. Moreover, he suggested Zachary Quinto live long and suck it. However, “The Love Spell Potential” played the “You got to like Zachary Quinto card” and convinced the D&D enthusiast that Howard could be a great Dungeon master. So, what’s the deal with Sheldon and the actors who portrayed Spock? Can’t he make up his mind or it’s just a small plot hole?

7. Are People Supposed To Lie In Their Vows? Because Amy definitely did!

Sheldon and Amy’s relationship is a quirky and unique one that started as a purely intellectual connection. As the years went by, they grew to understand and appreciate each other’s idiosyncrasies, leading to a deep emotional connection and eventual marriage. But let’s recall Amy’s marriage vow. As heartwarming and touching as it was, it was not entirely true.  “From the moment in that coffee shop, I knew that there was something special between US.” But, did she? In fact,  she found the notion of romantic love an unnecessary cultural construct that adds no value to human relationships at the first stage of her relationship with Sheldon. Well, let’s not ruin the romance. This is just a little scenario gap.
