6. “Red”

This is another case where these two songs could be flip-flopped yet I didn’t want to put the titular track incredibly low on my list. That’s why I featured “Red” close to the middle because it’s one of those songs you can’t just listen to once. Each time you listen, you notice another thing Taylor equates with a color and it’s just amazing.

While “Red” was a solid single, I feel like it doesn’t hold up as much as the others. Even so, it’s a good song and is another one that will always get us as Taylor fans hyped. Plus the album is called Red for a reason so there’s no denying that.

Looking at all the singles from the album, I do feel like this one isn’t as strong as some of her bigger hits on the record. Regardless, there was no way it could go any lower on my list because like I said, Red is the name of the album.

5. “Everything Has Changed”

Heading into the midway point of the list, I decided to go with “Everything Has Changed” which is a track featuring Ed Sheeran. At this point, Sheeran wasn’t as popular as he is now and Taylor was at her peak. These two were truly a match made in heaven and with the new revamped version, it’s even more enjoyable.

To me, this song is the ultimate melding of Taylor and Ed’s vocals and writing skills. While I don’t think every artist can hold their own with Taylor, Ed Sheeran can. I just adore the lyrics in this one, too. They’re just so sweet and romantic but simple: “Come back and tell me why. I’m feeling like I’ve missed you all this time,” along with “And your eyes look like coming home.”

“Everything Has Changed” hits that sweet spot of featuring two popular artists but not having one overshadow the other. It makes complete sense why this one was picked as a single because it was two of the biggest musical artists at the time and even now, it’s still just as dazzling.
