As with most of these lists, I always like to preface this by saying that these are just my opinions as I love almost all of Taylor Swift’s songs. If you don’t agree, I’d love to see your ranking in the comments. Let’s just keep it friendly and respectable and share in our mutual love of Speak Now.

6. “Mine”

To me, the most disappointing single from Speak Now was easy “Mine.” I mean I know it was the first single to come out but it felt a little boring to me. Even though I did love this song and music video, it didn’t feel like it fit the tone of this album. Regardless, I can see why the record label decided to go with this one as it’s a very catchy song and is one of those you hear first and can’t get out of your head.

“Mine” feels like a more mature version of Taylor and focuses on a long-term relationship which isn’t something most teenagers can connect with. However as Taylor’s fans got older and started to change, so did her music. Even so, I feel like “Mine” was a good song but it didn’t blow anyone away.

It’s also another of Taylor’s songs that were given both a “country” and “pop” version. While it was the lead single of the Speak Now era, it ended up at the bottom of my list because I don’t ever connect this song to this era.

5. “Mean”

Moving onto the next single and this one might be slightly shocking, but it’s “Mean.” Odd that I used the two “M” singles as my bottom two picks. While I don’t actively dislike this song or anything, this is another catchy one and it’s clear why this song was made into a single.

I do adore the country sound and the lyrics although it does feel a bit out-of-place within the rest of the singles. While I don’t think that all of Taylor’s singles need to be about love, I feel like she does that best. In a way, I feel like I could see this song being a single later in her career versus when it was. Even so, it’s a lot of fun and is one I’m excited to see Taylor revisit. I’m curious if she’ll keep the country sound or go for something a bit different.

While I know these first two picks might upset some fellow Taylor fans, I do love this album so I have a lot of strong feelings about it so feel free to disagree in the comments. I mean the album is called Speak Now so it does make sense.
