Romance books are hotter than ever. It’s clear by how many books are being adapted including some 2022 releases such as Partners in Crime by Alisha Rai.

You might recognize Alisha Rai from some of her other series including her Forbidden Hearts series, The Modern Love series, or even, Partners in Crime. She also has an upcoming YA book, While You Were Dreaming which is set for release on March 21st.

However, her most recent adult romance, Partners in Crime was picked up by Warner Bros for a TV series along with its untitled sequel. At this point, we don’t know many details on if or when it will premiere but I can imagine it’ll be well over a year.

Partners in Crime is just one of multiple 2022 romance releases being optioned for the big or small screen, but could we see other Alisha Rai projects following this adaptation?

Could more of Alisha Rai’s books be adapted in the near future as well?

You might be surprised to know that Alisha Rai has only been publishing since 2009 but it doesn’t feel like she really blew up until a few years ago. As someone who has read a handful of her books, I’m incredibly happy to see one of her books being optioned for a TV series. She writes such fun and unique romances that no two feel the same.

Looking at her backlist, she has a few series that would translate well into a TV series or a movie. I feel like a lot of people are going to agree with me on this first one. Her Forbidden Hearts series was an easy first pick for me. As a three-book series, it could translate well into a couple of seasons or even a few movies. Each book features different tropes including second chance, age gap, and single mother with a forbidden touch, of course. Regardless of what you enjoy, there’s something juicy to find in each story.

Keeping with the juicy and messy feelings, I had to mention two other options I could see getting picked up which are her Bedroom Games series which is a billionaire romance following Wyatt and Tatiana that sounds so fun and steamy. The other option is obviously her Modern Love series which follows different romances between modern women in the modern world including dating apps, catfishing, and even, one of them going viral.

Aside from Partners in Crime, the series with the most potential is easily her Forbidden Hearts series. That series really reads like a movie so I feel like an adaptation would only highlight how great it is. I feel like Forbidden Hearts would be great if it ended up on Netflix because it would be the perfect thing to marathon over a weekend.

Next. The Love Wager by Lynn Painter is a fun rom-com for spring. dark
