Are stores open on New Year’s day?

It’s New Year’s Day, and that means getting ready for a whole year of potential and opportunity. It also means getting a chance to start the year off on the right foot by knocking out some shopping.  With it being a federal holiday, you may be wondering if anything’s even open, and the simple answer to that question is; yes.

Many things are open and we’re going to help you out by telling you what is open, at least among the more popular chains from all over the country. Not every store that is open is on this list.

Keep in mind, unless stated next to the store, every place will have standard hours of operation. Those stores that have limited hours will likely differ from store to store, so call ahead. Also keep in mind, that most stores with limited hours will close early in the evening.
