It’s late December, meaning it’s that time of year when many stores and facilities across the country have special holiday hours. It’s always a good idea to check ahead of time before going grocery shopping or hitting the gym to see if your location is open. Many businesses close for the holiday, so it’s best to double-check to avoid any disappointment. On the flip side, some places may offer extended hours during the holiday season. Now that it’s Christmas Day, many stores are closed until tomorrow. But what about Planet Fitness?

Planet Fitness is known for its long operating hours, with many of its locations open 24/7. That might not apply to the big holidays, however.

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but after some research, it looks like most Planet Fitness locations will be closed today, Christmas Day. That said, it’s possible your location will be open, so we’d recommend calling ahead to confirm the hours. Not every club follows the same hours, so there’s a chance yours could be operating today. Try not to be too disappointed if no one at your club answers your call today, though.

The good news is Planet Fitness locations should be back to operating tomorrow, Dec. 26, 2022. If you have to take the day off today from your fitness routine, we hope you have a great Christmas if you’re celebrating! Looking ahead, Planet Fitness locations should be open on New Year’s Eve, though many clubs might have limited hours.

Planet Fitness was founded in the early ’90s and has since become one of the largest and fastest-growing chains of fitness centers in the country. As someone who’s a member, I really love the chain as it offers a variety of workout classes, strength training, cardio equipment, and other amenities such as massage chairs and saunas. And if you’re on a budget, Planet has great prices! It’s a great place to go to get a workout in, but unfortunately not on Christmas Day.
